Register now for our one -or more- of our exciting new dog training classes to be held at Paradise Acres kennel in Newport, Carteret county, NC and at Lynaire kennel in New Bern, Craven county, NC. All the classes are scheduled to start the last week of February and in March and will include a new APDT Rally obedience class AND an APDT C.L.A.S.S with 3 levels: BA, MA and PHD!!!!! 
Payment is due at the time of registration and is fully refundable until 3 days before the classes actually start!
Proof of current vaccinations is required at the time of registration.

NOTE: In the case of heavy rainfall, classes will be rescheduled. Please call the kennel or the trainer an hour before they are scheduled to start and find out if they have definitely been canceled.  Note that the testing locations may be switched around to accommodate the majority of our clients.

Clicker training- Cost for GROUP classes: $65 for 4 weeks and $79 for 6 weeks. Temperament tests: $55. AKC CGC tests: $15. Specialty classes are $89 for 6 weeks

NEW! RALLY OBEDIENCEfor junior or adult teams who want to have FUN with their dog while reinforcing their dog's obedience training skills. The teams navigate from sign to sign and complete a course with Sit/stay/down/stay, figure 8, down/stay/stay/etc. excellent for shy, fearful dogs and all others. for 6 months and older.
 
NEW! APDT C.L.A.S.S. includes one program for underprivileged teenagers and their dog. This program is open to all interested teenagers with low family income or support but who LOVES animals and is deemed deserving enough to earn free access to the classes.  Teenagers who feel they fall into that category may apply for the 6 week program by emailing DFPMac@aol.com. The goald here is to give the teens a sense of belonging and self-worth and learn to work towards goals. School adminsistrators and counsellors may recommend students for this program.
 
THE APDT C.L.A.S.S.classes are primarily geared towards adult and junior teams. The Canine Life and Social Skills Class is a new and excellent way to progress with your dog and eventually obtain a PHD level certificate good for framing!. This class has 3 levels: BA, MA and PHD!

Basic manners/ Beginner education: Age: 6 months and older with no previous training- Course length: 6 weeks- Cost: $79

This course will also prepare the dogs for the AKC CGC test which my be given at the conclusion of the class or in a different location to be announced
 
Introduction to agility: Prerequisite: Puppy or beginner class. Course length; 6 weeks for $89
 
This course will help your dog focus better through shaping exercises. These exercises will focus on teaching your dog new tricks! As we go, we will build the dogs' desire to play and get better awareness of his/her body.
The dogs will be introduced to a "table", jumps, a tire, a dog walk, weaves and a tunnel.
This course is recommended for under-stimulated dogs, shy dogs and insecure dogs or dogs and owners who need to reinforce their human-animal bond.
 
NEW! Freestyle dancing Novice Level: Pre-requisite: Intermediate or advanced level dog obedience class: 6 weeks for $89
 
This course is designed to reinforce the bond with your dog at a high level of obedience training. During this very enjoyable class, your dog will learn to practice and reinforce advanced level obedience moves that will be eventually performed on the sound of music!!! A MUST for dog owners who are looking at joining a unique class during which your dog's focus will continue to improve while having FUN! If you are stressed and are looking at doing something to do which is truly rewarding with your well-behaved dog, this is IT!
Basic moves: the Novice level courses combines 2 or more moves from 10 basic moves. Six of those are morror moves.
1- Left heel LH). Right heel (RH). Fast & slow paces.
2- Back Left Heel ( BLH) or Back Right heel ( BRH)
3- Come Front (CF)

NEW! Beginner Rally obedience
APDT RALLY: Pre-requisite: puppy or beginner, intermediate or advanced or great understanding of all basic cues.
 
This course is an interactive dog sport which combines skills learned for basic and competition obediecne exercises into a course where the dog and handler move from station to station completing each exercise. It is intended to be an opportunity to practice and advance the skills learned in your basic obedience classes and reinforce them to an advanced level. Teamwork and fun will be emphasized in this class!
Rally is a terrific activity which helps build a positive working relationship between dog and owner. It is agreat for insecure or shy dog and for confident dogs as well.
 
Temperament testing (with appointment only). $55
 
AKC CGC test preparation course. 4 weeks for $65
This course is geared towards practicing all 10  parts of the CGC test requirement in preparation of the test.
 
AKC Canine Good Citizen Program ( CGC) test is $15
All well mannered dogs and puppies or dogs and puppies who have participated in a puppy or beginner and intermediate level program may apply to participate in the AKC CGC program. If interested, contact us by email at smartdogs411@aol.com to inquire about the next testing date and location.  The $15 charge covers the cost of fuel, all the AKC paperwork, mailing costs and processing.
 
ONE ON ONE  in-home sessions are recommended for dogs whose behavior need improvement in a home or community environment or for dogs whose owners prefer to train their dog in a home environment. Cost: $60 to $80 per hour per visit based on the client's location.
Kindly give a 24 hour notice if an appointment must be changed or canceled or the full charge may apply.  
Problems may include: Aggression, fear, phobias, pulling on the leash, jumping on people, bouncing off walls, lack of focus, recall, mouthing, potty training, uncontrollable barking, shyness, digging, darting out the door, scratching at door, obsessive behaviors etc...
 
In the case of a no show, the customer will be charged the full amount to cover the cost of fuel and also to compensate for the time lost and previously allotted to them. In the case of last minute cancelation ( within an hour of the appointment time), the customer will be charged $25.
